Inside the Game, not to be confused with the college sports broadcast, differs from other video game commentary/review shows in that it offers an analytical perspective in a hyperbolic fashion. Charles Luther, with his PhD in Videogameology and NESology, observes video games and breaks them down for covert political messages, social commentary, and other odd metaphors. Dr. Luther firmly believes that video games, like other works of art, need to have their chance for analytical interpretations. If fine cinema, books, and abstract paintings can become immortalized through such lengthy interpretations that often result from seeing more than what is actually there, then so can video games. Why shouldn’t they?
Currently, the show has three episodes that cover Spiritual Warfare (NES), Super Mario Bros., and Ghosts ‘n Goblins.
